Safeguarding and Child Protection

How Taywood Nursery School and Seedlings Keeps Our Children Safe

We adhere to all guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education, 2026.

At Taywood Nursery School and Seedlings, we expect all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share our commitment to safeguarding our children. We will ensure:

  1. The welfare of the child remains paramount.

  2. All children - whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious beliefs and/or sexual identity - have the right to be protected from harm.

  3. All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.

  4. All staff and volunteers working at our school have a responsibility to report concerns to the Designated Lead for Safeguarding

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL)

Should you have any concerns about a child, please contact our DSLs, or report the concern directly to Children's Social Care or the Police.

Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Governor is Daisy Greenwood. Daisy works with the school at a strategic level, to hold leaders to account for safeguarding policies and procedures. She visits the nursery school regularly, monitors training, supports safer recruitment and ensures that all staff are accountable for safeguarding and child protection.
