Services Information

EYFS Statutory Requirements

Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them.

Taywood meets all the welfare requirements which support us to provide a nursery which is welcoming, safe, stimulating, and where children are able to enjoy learning through play, to grow in confidence and to fulfil their potential.

We comply with all the legal requirements including safeguarding and promoting children's welfare, employing suitable people to look after the children, providing suitable premises, environment and equipment, and ensuring the organisation of the nursery and documentation held by the nursery are of a high standard.

Should you have any concerns regarding the nursery you should discuss these in the first instance with the Headteacher or Extended Services Co-ordinator.

Serious concerns should be taken to Ofsted.

See below to find out how to make a complaint to Ofsted.

Telephone 0300 123 1231 for Seedlings or 0300 123 4234 for Orchard and Willow Room.

Child Protection

We follow the Lancashire Safeguarding Board policy and procedures for safeguarding our children from significant harm through abuse or neglect.

We take our duty of care very seriously and will always take action if we believe it is necessary.

If we have concerns regarding the well-being of a child we will discuss them with the parents in the first instance, as long as it is appropriate to do so.  Otherwise, we will always report to the appropriate authorities if we believe a child is at risk.  This is true whether it involves a child in our nursery, family members, a member of public or our own staff.  We will never do nothing, even if it turns out we were wrong.
