Activities to try at home
Gather some porridge oats, raisins, spoons and containers/cups and allow your child to explore the texture, smell, taste. You could show them how to fill and empty the pots, talking about 'full' and 'not full'. Encourage your child to notice when they need 'more' to fill the pot.
Brown Bear, Brown Bear - use a blob of brown paint on a piece of paper and give your child a fork. Encourage them to pull the paint across the paper using the fork. Once dry use a black pen to make the bears face.
Dear Zoo – Acting like animals!
Show your child how to move like different animals. Here are some ideas for you...
- Stomp like an elephant
- Fly like a parrot
- Snap like a crocodile
- Gallop like a zebra
- Stretch like a giraffe
- Swing like a monkey
- Slither like a snake
