Family Worker System

Relationships between staff and the children and their families are of great importance to us at Taywood.
When starting nursery all children will be allocated a 'Family Worker'. The role of the family worker is to ensure that the child has a specific adult who will care for them and ensure that their time at nursery is a positive one.
The family worker supports, observes and assesses the child's care, learning and development and is responsible for ensuring that their unique needs and interests are met.
By developing positive relationships with parents and main carers the family worker can develop a good two-way flow of information between home and nursery to ensure the whole child is understood and the important role of the parent/carer as a child's first and enduring educator is affirmed.
Parent / carers are always welcome to talk with our practitioners - to share family news or to address any concerns. We value your contribution to your child's life at home and at nursery and we will always welcome you into Taywood.
